Slushie Recipe

On Friday evening, I played Pokeno at Lisha's house. She made slushies that were enjoyed by everyone in attendance. Here is her recipe:

9 Cups Water
1 ½ cups sugar
12 oz frozen Orange Juice
12 oz frozen lemonade
2 Cups Peach Schnapps

Bring water and sugar to a boil and then stir in all the rest of the ingredients. Cover & Freeze. Stir every 90 minutes. Serve with 7-up.

Making Homeade Popsicles

Summer is here and I have fond memories of eating popsicles as a child. I bought popsicle molds at "The Christmas Tree Store" last Saturday. Aiden and I have made apple juice popsicles several times in the past week. This evening, we decided to make popsicles with orange Kool-Aid that I got for free several months ago. We started by mixing up the Kool-Aid in my favorite Pampered Chef quick stir pitcher. The packet called for 1 cup of sugar, but we reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup.

Next, we filled the molds with the Kool-Aid.

Finally, we put the lids on the molds and placed them into the freezer. They will be ready to eat in about four hours. Aiden loves helping me in the kitchen and I enjoy his company.
